Department Member, Research Laboratory
Data Manager
About
I am the Data Manager for the London School of Economics Research Laboratory, where I advise staff from the Centre for Economic Performance, STICERD, CASE, CEE and SERC on all areas of data use and acquisition.
I have been a data professional for over 10 years, and have advised UK and international government departments and statistical offices on secure data access.
My primary interests are in data infrastructure and particularly in how investment in data collection can be maximised by allowing secondary analysis of microdata while maintaining respondent confidentiality.
I am a member of the Economic and Social Data Service Advisory Committee, and the Secure Data Service Advisory Committee.
Projects:
I am Director of the ARC-STICERD India Data Centre, a project being developed with funding from the LSE Annual Fund.
I am looking into how Universities can meet the new contractual and procedural requirements being brought in by government departments in relation to data access.
I am on a part time secondment to the Welsh Government to advise on 'Improving Research Access for Potentially Disclosive Data in Wales' as part of an ESRC knowledge exchange fellowship.
