About
I am an Associate at the LSE and an Associate Fellow at the Institute for the Study of the Americas (SAS), University of London. I also remain affiliated with the University of Campinas (Brazil) as a postdoctoral researcher since 2009.
In 2010 I was invited by Laurence Whitehead to co-teach a postgraduate IR course at the University of Oxford. I was then invited by Timothy Power to teach the same IR course again, in 2012.
Previously, I was a Lecturer at the Hoschule Bremen, in Germany, and at the University of Campinas, in Brazil.
While living in Germany I also worked as a consultant for a Hamburg think tank in the field of peace studies.
I was a member of a CLACSO (Latin American Social Sciences Council) regional working group on violence and democracy for a few years and I worked independently for one year on a research project of my own design, for which I was awarded a competitive grant from the Berghof Foundation.
My areas of expertise include international relations; international security organizations; conflict, defense and peace studies; Latin American politics and security policy; democracy consolidation; and Brazilian Armed Forces.
