Juan Pablo Pardo-Guerra is Lecturer in Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He studies sociological aspects of technology and innovation in financial markets. His work includes research on the history of the development and adoption of information and communication technologies in stock exchanges as well as analyses of current trends in global finance, including high-frequency trading.
Juan Pablo received a BSc in Physics from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in 2005 and a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from the University of Edinburgh in 2010. In addition to his research in the sociology of finance, Juan Pablo is also interested in the sociology of emerging technologies, the history of social and economic doctrines, art markets and broader issues in economic sociology.
